The Farm Is Always Teaching Us Something 🌱

If there is one thing farming will teach you, it is this: you can make a plan, but the farm may have a different one.

You can prepare the soil, plant the seeds, check the weather, water faithfully, and do everything you know to do—and still be surprised by what happens next.

At Bunny’s Love Farm, we are learning that every growing season comes with its own lessons.

Some seeds seem to sprout overnight. Others make you check the soil every morning wondering, “Are you coming up or not?” 😂

Some plants take off and grow beautifully. Others struggle through the heat, pests, too much rain, not enough rain, or one of the many other challenges Mother Nature decides to send our way.

And somehow, we keep planting.

Farming Teaches Patience

When you put a seed into the ground, you don’t get an immediate reward.

You wait.

You water.

You watch.

You wonder.

And eventually, a tiny green plant pushes its way through the soil.

There is something special about that moment, no matter how many times you see it.

Farming reminds us that growth takes time. Just because we cannot see something happening above the soil doesn’t mean nothing is happening underneath it.

That’s a lesson that reaches far beyond the garden.

Sometimes Things Don’t Go as Planned

Every farmer has a story about something that didn’t work.

A crop may not produce the way you expected. Seeds may not germinate. The weather may change your plans. Insects may discover your vegetables before you get a chance to harvest them.

Those moments can be frustrating, but they’re also part of farming.

Instead of only asking, “What went wrong?” we learn to ask:

“What can we do differently next time?”

Maybe we plant earlier.

Maybe we plant later.

Maybe we improve the soil.

Maybe we change how we water.

Maybe we try a different variety.

Every season gives us information that helps us become better growers.

Then There Are the Good Surprises 🌱

Farming isn’t only about challenges.

Sometimes you walk outside and discover that the plant you were worried about has suddenly taken off.

You find the first tomato beginning to turn red.

You see peas hanging from vines that were only seedlings a few weeks ago.

You notice a bed of greens filling in beautifully.

Or you harvest more food than you expected.

Those are the moments that remind you why you keep going.

More Than Growing Vegetables

At Bunny’s Love Farm, we’re growing tomatoes, greens, peas, corn, peppers, and other seasonal produce—but we believe we’re growing something else too.

We’re growing knowledge.

We’re learning how to care for the land.

We’re learning how to become better growers.

We’re learning how locally grown food can help strengthen a community.

And with every season, we have more knowledge to share with the next generation.

The Farm Will Keep Teaching 🌻

There will always be another seed to plant, another problem to solve, another harvest to celebrate, and probably another weed waiting for us tomorrow morning. 😂

That’s farming.

It isn’t perfect.

It isn’t predictable.

But it is rewarding.

And as long as we’re willing to pay attention, the farm will always have something new to teach us.
